February 27, 2025 – Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a fire at the Edge Fitness Center in the Pike Creek Shopping Center. The call was received at 5:07 AM and reported as a fire against the rear wall of the large commercial building. Additional calls were received stating the fire had extended to the structure.

Mill Creek Fire Company firefighters arrived on the scene and requested a full box response which brought mutual aid from Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder, Christiana, Elsmere, and Hockessin Fire Companies. A large pile of pallets was burning in the rear of the structure. Firefighters extinguished the fire and checked the roof and interior of the building for any fire extension.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 6:19 AM as the State of Delaware Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause of the fire.

An earlier outside fire was reported at 2:28 AM in the area of the Wawa on Pike Creek Blvd which was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
