International/John Bean – 21-4

Unit Specifications:
The International/John Bean – 21-4 was a versatile fire engine, designed for effective fire suppression and foam application. Featuring a 500-gallon tank and a 50-gallon AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) tank, it was equipped to handle both traditional firefighting and hazardous material incidents requiring foam suppression.

At its core was a 1,000 gpm FMC volume pump, paired with a 30 gpm, 850 psi John Bean high-pressure pump for delivering high-pressure water streams. Powered by a 461 cu in. V8 gasoline engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, this engine provided the power and flexibility needed for both urban and rural firefighting tasks.

In service from 1970 to 1981, 21-4 was a valuable asset for the department, offering both fire suppression and foam capabilities, making it well-suited for tackling a wide range of incidents during its years of operation.
