Aerial Ladder

Seagrave – 21-7, Ladder-21

Unit Specifications:

The Seagrave – 21-7, Ladder-21 was a durable and highly capable aerial ladder truck that served the department from 1974 to 1996. Featuring a 100-foot Rear Admiral aerial ladder, this truck was critical for high-rise firefighting and rescue operations. Its 1,000 gpm dry Seagrave pump provided effective water delivery during firefighting efforts, even without an onboard water supply.

Powered by a 350 HP 8V71 Detroit Diesel engine and utilizing an HP 70 Allison automatic transmission, Ladder-21 delivered reliable power and performance during its years of service. The truck also came equipped with a 6-KW Onan generator, providing the necessary electrical power for on-scene operations. Additionally, its five (D) cylinder cascade system allowed for efficient air replenishment, critical for supporting firefighters during prolonged incidents.

This unit was a cornerstone of the department’s aerial and rescue capabilities for over two decades, playing a vital role in numerous firefighting and rescue missions before its retirement in 1996.
