Fiery Crash in Pike Creek Valley – Stoney Batter and Limestone Roads

A two vehicle crash left one car in flames and a person trapped in another. At 3:18 PM on April 16, 2011 two vehicles collided at the intersection of Stoney Batter Road and Limestone Road (RT7). The driver of the car, which caught on fire, was able to get of the vehicle before being consumed by smoke and fire. The other driver had to be extricated by firefighters from Mill Creek Fire Company. Both patients were transported to a local hospital. Traffic through the intersection was diverted on to Skyline Drive and Stoney Batter Road as fire crews cleaned up the crash scene. Hockessin Fire Company also assisted due to the severity of the call.
