Residential Structure Fire

November 2, 2024 – Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 1900 block of Windemere Avenue, Stanton.  The call was received at 2:00 AM with reports of the residence full of smoke after smoke detectors alerted the home occupants.

Firefighters arrived on the scene with smoke showing from the residence.   Firefighters found fire on the front porch with fire extension to the basement / crawl space area.   The flames were quickly extinguished, and the scene placed under control at 2:40 AM.   Approximately 25 firefighters responded to assist Mill Creek Fire Company from Aetna Hook, Hose and Ladder (Newark), Christiana, Cranston Heights, Elsmere, Fire Points, Hockessin and Minquas Fire Companies.   New Castle County Paramedics also responded to the call.   There were no injuries reported.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.  Units cleared the scene at 4:00 AM.
