December 10, 2025 – Mill Creek Fire Company was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 1900 block of Lindell Blvd in the Lindell Village community.  The alarm was received at 7:50 PM and units arrived on scene in a few minutes.  An initial report was given with smoke coming from the roof of the structure.

Firefighters searched the entire house looking for the source of the smoke and fire.   Fire embers started to appear on an outside wall extending into the attic.  The fire was discovered on a wall on the first floor and was quickly extinguished.

Mill Creek Fire Company was assisted by Aetna Hook & Ladder, Claymont, Cranston Heights, Five Points, Hockessin, and Wilmington Manor Fire Companies.  Several of the fire companies responding to Mill Creek’s alarm were assisting a nearby fire company on a structure fire and rerouted to the Linden Village fire.  Basic Life Support units from Belvedere and Mill Creek also responded to the alarm along with New Castle County Paramedics.   No injuries were reported.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.   The alarm was placed under control at 8:30 PM and all units cleared the scene at 9:00 PM.
