Edward Mason, age 90, of Bridgeville, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on January 30, 2019. Edward was a man devoted to serving his country and community. In 1949, immediately after completing a four-year tour with the U.S. Navy, Edward began his lifelong volunteer membership with the Mill Creek Fire Company, serving as a firefighter and later with the fire police.

Much of Edward’s working career was spent at the General Motors plant on Boxwood Road, where he retired in 1992 after 30 years of dedicated service. A true enthusiast, Edward was a NASCAR fan, an avid fisherman, and a proud member of the NRA, even obtaining a carry permit at the age of 89.

Edward was predeceased by his son, Michael. His wife passed away just four days after his death.
