In October of 2011, members of the Mill Creek Fire Company received “Exceptional Performance Awards” from Colonel Robert M. Coupe of the Delaware State Police for their actions in the apprehension of a robbery suspect.

Firefighters Bill Mossinger, Shawn Griner, Ted Work, Daniel Foraker, Chuck McVeigh (not pictured), and Dave Taylor (not pictured) assisted the Delaware State Police last summer with the apprehension of a suspect who had just robbed the Dunkin’ Donuts a block from the fire house.

Through their coordinated efforts they were able to locate the fleeing suspect in an area neighborhood and alert the State Police resulting in the capture of the fugitive. The firefighters were honored with the presentation at Delaware State Police Troop 6 during the annual formal inspections and awards ceremony at the Troop.
