Kreutzer. She was a graduate of the University of Maryland earning her B.S. degree in Chemistry and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, after which she went to work in DuPont Central Research and Development at the DuPont Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware. Krissy was a prolific inventor with 21 US Patents on subjects including production of nylon intermediates, improving performance of Li ion batteries, producing bio-based monomers for polyesters, and olefin polymerization. In addition, Krissy was an Assistant Chief with the DuPont Experimental Station’s Emergency Response Team. She was an Instructor for the Delaware State Fire School and a member of the New Castle County, the Delaware State and the Delaware Valley Fire Chiefs Associations, and the National Rifle Association. Krissy’s passion for chemical safety led her into the world of Hazardous Materials Response. She became internationally known for her skills and expertise in both firefighting and hazmat response and published, made presentations, and taught courses at national and international conferences. Krissy was predeceased by her father William J. Kreutzer Sr. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen C. (Novel) Kreutzer, her sister Karen L. Checho (Thomas J.), her brothers William J.
