August 28, 2011: Hurricane Irene, a category 2 hurricane came through our area on August 27th & 28th with high winds and torrential rains. Mill Creek Fire Company responded to over 20 emergencies during the peak of storm. Alarms consisted mostly of water rescues and trees and wires on fire. Over 30 firefighters and EMT’s staffed both of Mill Creek’s fire stations during the storm. There were no report of any injuries.
