Dr. Sweeney is a retired emergency medicine physician whose career spans over three decades. Having led teams in clinical practice, medical education, and emergency medical services, Dr. Sweeney has earned recognition as a driving force for better healthcare systems in Delaware. He also serves as the medical director for the Institute for Physician Assistant Education at Widener University, training the next generation of healthcare professionals. His advocacy for accessible care is highlighted by his 15-year tenure as chair of Westside Family Healthcare’s board, where he worked to improve healthcare for underserved populations.
