The Seagrave – 21-5, 2-5 was a reliable and robust pumper that served the department from 1977 to 1994. This unit was equipped with a 1,000-gallon water tank and a 1,500 gpm Waterous volume pump, making it a dependable choice for large-scale firefighting operations. Additionally, it featured a 30 gpm Waterous high-pressure pump, providing versatility for specialized tasks.
Powered by a 325 hp 8V71 Detroit Diesel engine and paired with an HT740 Allison Transmission, 21-5, 2-5 offered reliable power and performance for nearly two decades of service. The 6kw Onan generator provided the necessary electrical support for extended firefighting operations, ensuring that crews had the power needed for lights and tools during long incidents.
During its 17 years of service, this pumper was a critical part of the department’s response capabilities, known for its versatility, durability, and ability to handle various firefighting challenges. Although it has since been retired, it remains a significant piece of the department’s history.
