At our April 20. 2026 company meeting, Fire Chief Lloyd presented the following members for “Life Saving Awards and Unit Citation Awards.”

On January 6, 2026, at 5:34 PM, the Mill Creek Fire Company and mutual aid units were dispatched to a residential structure fire on Woodward Drive with reports of a woman trapped inside. Engine 21 arrived as the first due engine, established their own water supply, and quickly stretched an attack line to the residence.

While searching ahead of the hoseline on the second floor, Engine 21’s officer located the fire and the trapped occupant in a bedroom. Engine 21’s officer, along with Rescue 14’s officer, removed the victim out of the structure and into the care of ALS & BLS crews. As the occupant was being removed, Engine 21’s crew extinguished the fire, preventing it from extending outside the bedroom.

Under adverse conditions, Engine 21 and Rescue 14’s crew performed their duties collectively with focus, diligence, and effectiveness, thereby earning their awards, respectively. The Mill Creek Fire Company is pleased to recognize the following members for their actions:

Command: Deputy Chief Joshua Lennon
Engine 21: FF/EMT Robert Bestwick, Captain Joe Garone, FF/EMT Tyler Bailey, FF William Meehan
Rescue 14: Captain Paul Testa, FF Jakob Thomas
BLS Crew: EMT Rachael Baker, EMT Olivia Morgan
